Laboratory Services

PMH Medical Center's full-service, hospital-based laboratory serves the greater Yakima Valley healthcare community. In addition to serving Medical Center and Transitional Care patients, laboratory services are available to physicians’ offices, nursing homes, employers, and homebound patients, in coordination with PMH Home Health Services.

Laboratory services include Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Serology and Microbiology. The facility is equipped with the latest instrumentation and staffed with a highly experienced team of Technologists and Phlebotomists. Special capabilities include rapid diagnosis of less commonly encountered diseases and viruses such as Influenza, C. difficile (diarrhea), Methcillin/Vancomycin Resistant Staphylococcus (MRSA/VRSA), Rotavirus (Infants), HIV, and Mononucleosis, to name a few.

The laboratory also employs the latest testing technology for early detection of Cardiac disease (Troponin T, CKMB) and is the first in the Valley to offer the NT-proBNP test for the early diagnosis of Congestive Heart Failure (CHF).
